These are mostly letters that Mother wrote to the ladies at the jail. She went every Tuesday night to minister to these ladies and she had a deep love for these young ladies, and they knew it. We were also able to find some letters that Mother received from some of these ladies, I’ll share some of those as well.
Letters to the ladies:
Mother had at least two fiction books that she had written, Jacob’s Crossing and Janice. We were able to get complete printed copy of Jacob’s Crossing and a majority of Janice. At some point, these may be submitted to publisher’s for print. Jacob’s Crossing is set in the early plains and is a story of survival and beyond.
Also, one of my favorite letters that we were able to find, “When You’re In the Wilderness” has been made into a little mini-booklet which I print and share at my speaking opportunities. It’s such a touching, encouraging letter of support to the young ladies. It has special meaning for me, as it was written on July 1, 2008. (I am so thankful that she dated her writings) July 1 was her birthday, and it speaks to her personality for me that on her birthday she was taking time to write, type and print a letter to help others.
